SET to Reclassify Service Industry Firms to New Sectors beginning January 3, 2006 The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) reclassified the business sectors in 2005 and grouped all listed companies into their most appropriate sectors.The SET will now reclassify firms within the service industry by changing the names and definitions of some sectors and regrouping all listed companies by sector.This new classification system will better encompass the expanding new business areas and more adequately reflect the core businesses of firms preparing to list on the SET.The sector reclassification will occur in the following two ways: 1. Changes will be made in the names and definitions of sectors. "Hotel and travel service" will be renamed "Tourism and Leisure". The sector's definition will be modified to include leisure and recreation businesses, e.g., zoos, entertainment complexes, fitness centers and stadiums. This sector will have its definition modified to include medias production and distribution, including printing , magazines, newspapers, and advertising agencies.This will allow the merging of the "Printing and Publishing"sector intothe new "Media and Publishing"sector. Changing of the name and definition of the "Hotel and Travel Services" sector to "Tourism and Leisure" will cause 11 firms in the Hotel and Travel Services sector to move to the tourism and leisure sector. 2. The SET will move 2 companies currently in the Entertainment and Recreation sector - Safari World PCL. (SAFARI)and City Sports & Recreation PCL.(CSR) to the Tourism and Leisure sector. SAFARI provides recreation venues,e.g.,an open zoo, a marine park,and a bird park, while CSR operates a golf course. 3. Changing of the name and definition of the "Entertainment and Recreation" sector to "Media and Publishing" will affect 16 companies in the Entertainment and Recreation sector(excluding SAFARI and CSR)and 9 firms in the Printing and Publishing sector. 4. The SET will move 2 companies currently in the Professional Services sector - Far East DDB PCL.(FE) and Prakit Holdings PCL.(P-FCB) to the Media and Publishing sector.
