Re: Notification on a complaint filed with the Supreme Administrative
Court of Thailand which relates to MCOT Public Company Limited
Dear Sir:
Regarding to the news in the media on November 23,2006 that
Mr.Weera Somkhamkid and a group of 3 people (the Claimants)
filed a complaint to Administrative Court of Thailand,
naming Pol.Lt.Col.Thaksin Shinawatra Ex-Prime Minister,
the Cabinet, and the Office of the Prime Minister as Respondent
(the Respondents),seeking the court to order to cancel and revoke
the Cabinet Resolution that Business, Rights, Debts, Liabilities,
Assets of the Mass Communication Organization of Thailand to be
transferred to MCOT Public Company Limited, including
the Royal Decree Determining the Time for Repeating the Laws Governing
the Mass Communication Organization of Thailand B.E. 2520 (A.D. 1977)
B.E 2547 (A.D. 2004 ). The Royal Decrees Determining was issued
in relation to the corporatization of Mass Communication Organization
of Thailand to MCOT Public Company Limited under the corporatization
Act B.E. 2542 (A.D.1989) (the Corporatization Act).
Please be inform that we, MCOT Public Company Limited (MCOT),
has checked the fact and found that such complaint was filed.
Nevertheless, MCOT believes that the corporatization processes of
Mass Communication Organization of Thailand had been duly
proceeded under the Corporatization Act, were transparent.
The Claimants did not name MCOT as a respondent and the Respondents
have not yet received a copy of such complaint. MCOT will promptly
investigate all information and will discuss with the relevant authorities
in details in order to decide how to proceed further. MCOT will keep
shareholders, investors, and the Stock Exchange of Thailand informed
on this matter.
